Sitting directly across from Capitol Hill on state trust land is the new 39,085 square foot Department of Natural Resources building. A 36,000 square foot parking garage was added to the project behind the DNRC for adequate parking. The DNRC oversees, state trust land, water resources, forestry, gas, oil and water rights. DNRC manages Montana’s 5.2 million acres of state trust land, 24 state owned dams and 250 miles of irrigation canals.
