- Use efficiently and safely all tools and material in level 1 to assist in production assembly to a carpenter for
the following:- Understand correct placement of track and studs including direction, corners, slammers, and layout
of studs - Understand correct placement of sheet goods, starting points, direction, joint placement, cutting to
size, correct fastening - Understand King studs, Sills, and Headers
- Ability to retrieve correct number of items needed to finish area according to layout – count layout
marks, follow directions - Set up equipment needed to complete task at area determined by carpenter, scaffold-saws- laser –
etc. - Purchase Screw gun, Router, 4′ level
- Hilti Training – RDJ
- Drywall Level 1 – Informational In House Training Class (RDJ)
- Understand correct placement of track and studs including direction, corners, slammers, and layout
26 Weeks (1,040 hrs) (75% Journeyman’s Wage) $22.50 / hour
- Pull layout and mark correctly allowing for slammers, corners, finish layers, and direction of studs
- Install track and studs correctly as bottom person
- Efficiently operate screw gun
- Correctly cut and place Kings, Sills, and Headers
- Move equipment for next step: Scaffold, Laser, Etc.
- Understand Plumb, Level, and Square
- Being proficient at installation of sheet goods, spans- rating applications, installation of fasteners.
Efficiency in box cut outs, communication of measurements taking and giving - CPR / First Aid – RDJ

Level 5 26 Weeks (1040 hrs) (85% Journeyman’s Wage) $25.50 / hour
- Implement previous levels solo on minimal tasks efficiently
- Determine 3-4-5 to get square
- Assist in layout- snapping both sides of walls in red and soffits in blue, Mark doors, windows, expansion
joints, etc. - Assist in determining bench marks for doors, windows, 1″ row of gyp or sheathing
- Introduction to plan reading
- Start overseeing level 2
- Introduction to paper work
- Understanding of building schedule as it pertains to our trade
- Understanding correct application of drywall to achieve correct wall types and ratings
- Installation of corner bead and all drywall accessories
- Spend time with tapers (40 hours minimum)
- Drywall Level 2 – Application In House Training Class (RDJ)
26 Weeks (1040 hrs) (90% Journeyman’s Wage) $27.00 / hour
